SPOILER-FREE! 5 stars.
I loved everything about this book. Definitely my favorite in the series so far.
Chloe's writing style has evolved so much and I'm all here for it. My thoughts in the first two (even the third) book(s) were that there were few subplots and that the writing style felt a little unprofessional and wattpad-dy, however, I would like to retract my comment now, 'cause this was amazing. What a masterpiece.
Joey's drug addiction was one of the most believable I've ever read, if not the most. More importantly, I adored how Chloe went in-depth into his experience at rehab because every single book that has a character battling addiction just skips through the rehab part and the couple is suddenly back to sunshine and daisies. Doc. B is one of my favorite characters in the entire series, I love her so much.
Also, this book thankfully had subplots! e.g. Other than Aoife's, there were also the Lynch kids, Joey's drug addiction, Shane Holland, the havoc going on at home (in the first half of the book, at least), and more.
To conclude, I would absolutely recommend reading Redeeming 6. I'd also like to say that this is my second favorite series and even has the potential to overtake my no. 1 since 2018, Shatter Me (which is really popular now, and even though I'm glad it's getting all the love it deserves, it makes me feel really ordinary for loving the series even though I read it before 99% of the population now has read it). I feel like I know these characters so well that I could have actual conversations with them.
I'm also overjoyed that there was more Gibsie in this book. I have a notes page on my laptop for all my favorite book quotes, and each book I've read has on average three quotes, and the Boys of Tommen series easily has over a hundred put together. No kidding, it makes me crack up each time to re-read through the garbage that Gibsie has spewed out of his mouth.
So worth the hype. In fact, it deserves more than it gets.
If you enjoyed the Boys of Tommen series like I did, I'd recommend reading Paper Princess (the setting is completely different, but I get slightly similar vibes), Addicted to You (you feel very connected to the characters and both battle addictions, however, it is not as captivating as Boys of Tommen), The Way I Used to Be and My Dark Vanessa (both discuss rape in detail and the aftereffects, though). My Dark Vanessa in particular is a really emotional read.
