The Fine Print

TROPES: Grumpy-sunshine, workplace romance, billionaire romance, age gap.

This review will be short and straight to the point. I genuinely enjoyed reading about the characters and felt they were well-developed, however, I just felt that there wasn't anything really unique about the storyline. It wasn't very dramatic, which explains why it's a contemporary, but I wouldn't say it's worth the read if you have better alternatives. The characters have a lot of potential, though, and I'll definitely be reading the next two books (just for Cal).

I did really like Rowan as a character, though, because some authors just take the idea "morally grey" as an opportunity to make the love interest have the personality of a potato and just not experience feelings as a whole. I'm really glad Lauren Asher hasn't done that with Rowan, and has given him a backstory and strong emotions.

August 2nd, 2023 update:

After reading Lauren Asher's F1/Dirty Air series, I can confidently say that I enjoyed it much more than the Dreamland Billionaires series. So if you're contemplating reading one series or the other, I'd strongly recommend reading the F1 series before you read this one, simply for the reason that's more enjoyable.
